SARCDA August 2015
Flowers have Magic Powers!
We created a multi-layered fantasy with our latest range of floral decorative elements for Delicious Display’s SARCDA stand in August 2015. We love three dimensional decorations and our newest imitation flowers and plants were perfectly suited to the task of constructing lush backdrops and frames for our Summer Sarcda stand. We loved using our new imitation wisteria branches and we had such fun creating a large rose chandelier with our super-realistic imitation roses. Our mannequins sported our brand-new floral garlands and reminded us that Summer is just around the corner! Our new range of wood and metal trees was successfully launched at the show and – of course – bling elements were ever-present in the form of our glass baubles and facetted glass drops. SARCDA remains a highlight for us – we love meeting our customers in person and playing with our delicious products!

Snowflakes in summer
Graphic tonal colours contrasted against stark white silhouettes and dazzling metallics on Delicious Display’s SARCDA stand in August 2014. We used our favourite oversized sequins disks to create multi-chromatic backdrops for our new range of white display trees and PVC decorations. Our mannequins wore gold and silver leotards, beautifully made by Ballet Box in Cape Town. Christmas comes but once a year and we loved creating a contrast between the magic of a Winter wonderland Christmas and the vibrancy of Christmas in Summer. While our ever-popular glass baubles, drops and strands remained a customer favourite, our new range of PVC butterflies, snowflakes and stars, as well as our quirky selection of vinyl decals almost stole the show!
Fun with (Faux) Fur May 2014
Bella, Gabi and Dean strike a pose!
We asked the daughters and nieces of Lyn and Carol, the super-talented Nocturnal Affair sisters, to photograph themselves and each other, wearing our selection of imitation fur animal hats and cosplay wigs. Here’s showing that Winter can be hot! So many beautiful images, so little space. We could not resist creating a gallery of our favourite shots of Bella and Gabi Faulis en Dean Kaplan.
SARCDA August 2013
Walk into the light!
Our current fascination with “visual texture” translated into an illuminated, three dimensional white canvas for SARCDA August 2013. We used white paper and plastic to create textured backdrops and fascia and completed the “white on white” structure with our brand-new selection of paper lanterns and oversized paper flowers. We love observing how light naturally emanates from white and added a variety of LED lights to the display for maximum luminosity. Splashes of vibrant colour completed our celebration of colour and light and seasonal elements were introduced by using Christmas baubles to make oversized necklaces for our mannequins. Delicious Display won a Gold Award for Design Excellence at SARCDA August 2013.

Tons of TEXTURE and blocks of COLOUR won us the Best Stand Award!
Our on-going obsession with crafting three dimensional backdrops and creating visual “texture” was at an all time high during our preparations for SARCDA 2012. We were so impressed with the potential of our new range of oversized sequins discs, that we constructed a fascia from it. Andrea and her tagging gun were inseparable in the weeks leading up to the show and she created beautiful mermaid skirts for our mannequins, too! Colour was introduced on backdrops by using our felt placemats instead of wallpaper, contributing to a multi-layered celebration of visual display. Delicious Display won the Best Medium Stand award at SARCDA Christmas 2012.
SARCDA August 2011
Our FLORAL FANTASY became a Design Excellence reality.
SARCDA in August is all about Spring and Summer and in 2011 we decided to frame it with flowers! Corsage roses and flowers have an abundance of decorative applications. Our goal was to inspire our customers by showing how affordable roses and flowers can be used in a variety of creative ways as accessories, decorations, backdrops and even as complete outfits for our mannequins. Delicious Display won a Gold Award for Design Excellence at SARCDA Christmas 2011.
SARCDA August 2010
Little Red Riding Hood showed up wearing PINK.
Our favourite display on our August 2010 SARCDA stand was Little “Pink” Riding Hood, complete with a ”big bad wolf” cut out of black glitter vinyl. We used a variety of wallpaper, as well as black and silver glitter vinyl to construct fascia and backdrops. Our collaboration with Cape Town artist Alex Hamilton produced an exclusive range of “vintage look” jewellery displays and we were proud to show our commitment to increasing our offering of locally manufactured displays. Delicious Display won a Silver Award for Design Excellence at SARCDA Christmas 2010.
SARCDA August 2009
We came, we saw, we covered it in wallpaper!
During 2009, our customers could not get enough of our selection of affordable vinyl wallpaper and we pushed the envelope by collaborating with Cape Town fashion designer Soul Child to create wearable dresses from retro wallpaper. With damask print at the height of its popularity, we used this style of wallpaper as backdrops and we particularly loved the visual impact of combining this historical print with unexpected splashes of colour. Juxtaposing vintage or classic themes with modern or contemporary elements has remained a firm favourite at Delicious Display and we still enjoy the harmony – and dynamic tension – in this balance.
Show your Stuff. Tell a Story.
SARCDA March 2015
High on Fashion!
For our March 2015 SARCDA stand, we showed off our brand new range of high-fashion mannequins and versatile dress forms and framed it all with shimmering sequins disc backdrops, mixing gold, silver, black and white. Our fabulous hot pink poodle “mannequins” were back by popular demand and quirky new vinyl frames and chalkboards completed our visual story board. To celebrate our mannequin launch, we created a Facebook competition and are still planning to give away a FREE mannequin of your choice to a lucky customer. Our promotion is still ongoing from SARCDA March 2015 until SARCDA August 2015, so like our page to be in line to win! Delicious Display won a bronze award for Design Excellence at SARCDA March 2015.
SARCDA March 2014
The house we would live in.
Inspired by the neo-folk trend, we decided to build a house delicious enough for Hansel and Gretel. As much as we would have loved to build it from cakes and confectionery, we opted for white paper plates to create a roof and experimented with our new range of natural brick and wood wallpapers to imitate walls and floors. Our house had windows, flower boxes and an outside garden created with hot (display) property – imitation grass pebbles, hearts, owls and bunnies. Our version of a fairy tale house also showcased our versatile range of paper decorations and corsage flowers and, as always, our exciting selection of mannequins (complete with the latest wild Winter colours in wigs), hangers, garment rails and jewellery displays. Delicious Display won a Silver Award for Design Excellence at SARCDA March 2014.
The Exchange July 2013
Make a wish in Woodstock!
Delicious Display created a “wishing tree” at The Woodstock Exchange, Cape Town’s hippest work-and-play space. We loved adding our contribution to the abundance of creative energy at The WEX and collaborated with Charl Bothma, metal artist extraordinaire, on this fun project. Charl expertly crafted a 3 meter metal tree with a multitude of branches and we made 200 Perspex tags and 600 “I wish…” cards for tenants, visitors and suppliers of this multi-faceted creative hub to write their wishes on. The installation was completed with a yellow ladder and Perspex boxes to house the wish cards and twig pencils. We planted some arm and hand displays below the tree to symbolise the balance between “give and take” and to underline the culture of The Exchange. We love the versatility that a display tree offers and our wish is to do a variety of seasonal displays on The Exchange Tree!
SARCDA March 2013
The CIRCUS came to town and the big SALE was on!
Delicious Display launched our latest Winter range at SARCDA in March 2013. Inspired by a “circus” theme, we used our striped wallpaper, ribbon curtains and meters of bunting to imitate a circus tent, complete with mini circus animals and a mannequin ring master! As we were heading towards Winter, we were contemplating “sale” season and focused on a variety of looks that could inspire our customers to create impressive SALE window displays. We’re now more convinced than ever that the word “sale” is one of the strongest triggers in today’s competitive retail arena and we wanted to show that a sale event could be beautiful, colourful, playful and even glamorous. We put our money where our mouth was and offered a 10% discount on all SARCDA orders!
SARCDA March 2012
All that glitters was GOLD and a little COSPLAY on the side…
We love gold and we showed it! Alida’s fascination with “cosplay” translated into our mannequins wearing pink, green and lilac wigs to complete their avant-garde outfits. New arrivals at this show were our life-size resin Dalmatians and Poodles who played their part as “mannequin’s” best friends! We featured our gold disc curtains in combination with our white ribbon curtains on our 3 meter high fascia, unveiled our latest wallpaper selection, introduced our new range of dress forms and set the stage for a Gold Award for Design Excellence at SARCDA International 2012.
SARCDA March 2011
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Our range of high-quality and well priced mannequins were out in full force in March 2011 as we launched our brand new offering of realistic and abstract mannequins. This selection is still part of our core range in 2013 and in constant demand. Our passion for mannequins is motivated by the variety of looks and moods that we’re able to create with different outfits and accessories and as realistic as mannequins might appear, we can never resist adding some fantasy. For SARCDA March 2011, we played with false eyelashes, highly styled mannequin wigs, burlesque corsets, edgy black stockings and plenty of faux fur.
SARCDA March 2010
Birds flying high, you know how I feel…
Delicious Display’s March 2010 SARCDA stand was filled with birds and butterflies and we proudly launched our locally produced range of laser-cut Perspex decorations at this show. We still love the dramatic contrast between black and white, as well as the historical feel of the “Marie Antoinette” wigs on our mannequins. Our range of flocked velvet wallpaper was launched in March 2010 and the “damask” trend was firmly established.
SARCDA March 2009
Pretty in PINK was how it all started!
Delicious Display’s SARCDA debut was at the March 2009 show. We knew that buyers from all over the country would be tempted by our selection of jewellery and fashion display items, but we did not anticipate the overwhelming response to our initial product range. Andrea made beautiful tutu skirts in all shades of pink and our well priced mannequins and wallpaper were instantly popular. We won our first Gold Award for Design Excellence at SARCDA International 2009 and we are proud of how much we’ve grown as a business and as visual merchandisers since then.
